25/1/2012

January has been a busy month for the St Helens Computer Club, your club.

We have launched our Recycling programme which is covered in the news letter dated 11/1/2012,  so any contributions will be appreciated.

The turn out every Wednesday has been good and the members have set up a communication network through one of the leading companies,

this enables the members to keep in touch with each other and help solve their problems without having to wait till the following week, the members are delighted with it.

Once again XP versus 7 has come up, with the usual friendly out come, why change something that’s not broken. To some degree they are right but with windows 7 being on most of our new members machine’s, we are as a club and rightly so forced to keep up with the changes.

At the moment we have a number of machines on 7 and the rest on XP, but the biggest problem is finding out which programmes will work on both systems, I know it’s not the best way to go, but when people are reluctant to move up to 7, then it’s the only way to do it.

It will be interesting to hear your point of view on this subject, please leave your comment in the box below. Thank you.

Well it’s time for my tea now so that’s it for this month keep your comments coming in and we’ll see what February has to offer.

Bye for now.

p.s. Liver and onions
